Find out what you keep from an Amazon UK sale after category-based referral fees, Individual or Professional selling-plan costs, FBA or FBM fulfilment, VAT, advertising and returns.
Amazon UK offers an Individual plan at 75p per unit sold and a Professional plan at £25 monthly, before any applicable VAT. Referral fees depend on the product category and the total buyer-facing sales price including applicable postage and gift wrapping. A per-item minimum typically applies. This tool calculates one product category per order and applies the minimum separately to each unit.
Consumer Electronics and Computers are 7%. Baby Products are 8% up to £10, but 15% on the entire price above £10, not just the excess. Automotive and Powersports use 15% for the first £45 and 9% above £45. Electronic Accessories use 15% up to £100 and 8% on the excess. Clothing and Accessories have distinct £15 and £20 bands; eligible FBA clothing over £40 uses the first £40 at 15% and excess at 7%. Check your exact Amazon category before relying on a result.
Individual charges 75p for every unit sold, not every checkout order. Professional charges £25 per month irrespective of order count; the calculator allocates it over expected monthly units. For example, 100 units per month means 25p per unit; two units in one order therefore allocate 50p. Monthly orders are a separate input for projecting monthly profit.
FBM sellers enter their actual postage, packaging and handling costs. FBA sellers enter their Seller Central fulfilment fee per unit and optional storage, inbound, placement, removal, returns and aged-inventory allocations. UK FBA rates vary by dimensions, weight, programme and date. This calculator intentionally does not guess those rates.
Reduced Low-Price FBA eligibility expanded to many products priced at or below £20 in January 2026, but exclusions and size/weight limits still apply. From 17 April 2026, Amazon applies a 1.5% fuel and logistics-related FBA surcharge. Amazon's current Revenue Calculator and Seller Central fee preview reflect this surcharge. If your entered actual FBA fee already includes it, do not enter any additional surcharge.
UK VAT treatment varies by seller, transaction and Amazon collection rules. Seller-remitted VAT already contained in the price is removed once from economic revenue; buyer VAT collected by Amazon is excluded. Amazon selling fee VAT and FBA VAT can be entered separately, together with recoverable input VAT. VAT registration alone is not sufficient to presume a particular charge or deduction. If a tax amount cannot be projected to another selling price, price solvers become unavailable rather than silently assume a VAT rate.
Amazon normally credits a referral fee on a qualifying refund but retains a Refund Administration Fee of the lesser of 20% of that refunded referral fee and £5. For the full-order refund mode, the buyer payment is removed from expected revenue and the refunded referral fee is credited separately from the administration charge. In actual or partial refund scenarios, enter the refunded buyer amount within expected return loss. Other return losses and FBA handling costs are distinct. Partial refunds and unusual order structures need actual Seller Central values.
Advertising can be modelled as an allocated actual cost or as a percentage of the sale; not both at once. Net profit includes product cost, fulfilment, applicable VAT, selling-plan charges and other stated expenses. Break-even and target-margin prices rerun the actual UK fee calculation, including step changes, instead of using a generic flat percentage.
No. FBA fulfilment is an Amazon charge, while FBM postage is paid directly by the seller. Do not record the same cost twice.
No. The answer depends on monthly unit sales and other plan benefits. Enter actual expected units rather than assuming a fixed order volume.
An actual referral fee or absolute VAT amount may not remain unchanged when you raise or lower your selling price. When that relationship is unknown, the tool cannot reliably infer a future price.
